Hunter College - Marble Hill School for International Studies

It has been a wonderful 4 years at Hunter. Although I faced unique challenges during the shutdown and suffered from things that I have yet to adjust to, I am hopeful and optimistic to look ahead after pushing through the fire. I am graduating with my bachelors, as an urban studies major and with a certificate in Human rights. I will also go directly into working with South Bronx Unite full time, a community land trust in the South Bronx. I hope to join the academic world to complete my masters in the future, after working and experiencing opportunities to reintegrate and connect with my environment. Before the pandemic I was heavily invested in the needs of my community, organizing and facilitating events and meetings. I was able to organize with NYPIRG during my final semester and sharpen my advocacy skills to continue to do what I love most effectively: advocate and serve others in need. My capstone project has paved the way for me to break ground in who that is for me: those who suffer disproportionate effects of pollution and the issue of pollution management.

I wrote the above bio in 2021. An update follows.

In the time after the pandemic and post graduation (5’21), I harnessed digital marketing skills to break into another realm to develop my skills in a corporate setting. In July it will mark 3 years since making the transition from non profit to digital marketing, and since then I have helped launch a campaign for a non profit (free to be youth) which launched throughout the city on link nyc system during 6/2024.

During the night, I participate at the non profit program that opened the doors for me to learn digital marketing (COOP) and teach others the foundation of digital marketing, help develop their resume and provide mentorship and support for them to take the next step in their careers.
